Apple Airpods are popular for their ease of fast connectivity and ease of use. But that doesn’t mean the device is trouble-free. Well, if there is a problem and it is difficult to solve, usually a practical way to handle it is to reset to factory default settings. Common problems include AirPods not connecting, unable to charge, and more. Then how do I reset it?
The following are tips on a step-by-step guide for resetting the device. This step works with the original AirPods 2, standard charging box, or wireless charging box. After a successful reset, AirPods can be used to listen to music again and are of course ready to start new things.
Steps to Reset Apple AirPods
- Use your iPhone or iPad to open the Settings menu.
On any iOS device that has previously connected AirPods, go to the Settings menu, and select Bluetooth. Then press the ‘i’ icon, which is next to the ‘Connected / Not Connected’ tab on the right. Then on the next screen, press ‘Forget This Device’ and confirm.
- Put AirPods in the Charging Case.
The previous history of AirPods with iOS has now been disconnected, so place the AirPods in the charging case, and cover them with the lid. Count to 30 seconds, then open the lid again.
- Reset AirPods
AirPods can be reset by pressing and holding the button on the back of the case. When the status flashes orange briefly a few times, then turns white, your AirPods are ready to be replaced.
- Reconnect the AirPods with the device.
How to reconnect your AirPods to your device depends on the type of device you’re connecting to, each way differently. If the device you’re connecting to is an iOS device, make sure the AirPods are within the range. Then just follow the setup instructions that appear.
Meanwhile, to connect with an Android device, the method varies, depending on the type of device and version. In general, you can enter the Settings menu or settings, then enter the connection section and make sure Bluetooth is on. Press and hold the setup button on the back until you see a white light. In the list of Bluetooth devices in the Android device menu, the AirPods will appear, select to install them.
